FROM THE DIRECTOR: PDO is off to a wonderful start. The children are adjusting well and are having a good time. September brings the beginning of autumn and watching the leaves begin to change colors. We will also begin learning the alphabet, numbers, and colors and many craft activities. This month the PDO program will also resume the "Read to Me" Program. Our first session will be Tuesday, September 14th, at 10:00 a.m. Please come and join us! The children love the individual attention. If you have any questions, please call the Church at 799-0162. We welcome Kayla Emmons as a new teacher in the PDO Program. She is married to Jon and has a 3-month-old baby named Bradley. Kayla has experience working with children and has new ideas for activities and crafts. I believe she will be a good addition to our program. Please come by and welcome her to our Church staff. Betsy Fischer, PDO Director

For registration or more information, ELECTION DAY 2008 AT PDO News Flash -- PDO students vote, too! Tuesday, March 3, the PDO students had an opportunity to learn a little about the election process -- they were given the opportunity to vote for their choice of pizza or a happy meal for Thursday's lunch. Of course, each student also received an "I Voted!" sticker when they finished. Following are pictures from the election:
Click here to download a PowerPoint slide show of more PDO pictures. If you don't have PowerPoint software on your computer, you must first download a free PowerPoint Viewer (follow the instructions on the screen to download and install it). Then click on the "PDO PowerPoint Slide Show" link. This gives you options to either open the file or save it to your computer (because of the file size and download time, I'd suggest saving it to your desktop or other convenient location). The file is rather large so it may take a little while to download, particularly on a dial-up connection...please be patient. When it opens, you may need to right-click anywhere on the screen and then on the "full screen" option. Click on the sound icon in the middle of the title picture to turn the background music on or off. As you move the mouse over the lower left corner of the screen, you'll see forward and back arrows to navigate through the slide show. Read to Me The second Tuesday of each month, volunteers read to the children. If you'd like to be a part of that program, please contact Betsy Fischer
